Marshall Islands Registry

The open registry of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, administered by International Registries, Inc. Applies the international conventions without an additional national overlay, at competitive cost.

Definition

The RMI flag is administered by International Registries, Inc. from Reston, Virginia through a worldwide office network, which in practice means responsive service across time zones. Its regulatory posture is to apply the international framework (STCW, MLC, the applicable yacht code) without a layer of additional national requirements on top, which keeps crewing flexible and costs below the premium British registries. The Private Yacht Limited Charter provision allows a private yacht of 24 metres or more to charter for up to 84 days per calendar year, the RMI counterpart to Cayman's YET programme.
